Trish McEvoy is a visual artist living and working in Crescent Beach, BC. She is obsessed with creating something beautiful from disappearing and culturally obsolete items and materials. She collects, combines, and upholsters vibrant and well-stitched vintage needlepoint tapestries into sustainable extraordinary pieces of bespoke furniture.

Trish was born in Edmonton, Alberta and graduated with a BFA (Art & Design) from the University of Alberta and a Diploma in Art History from UBC. She has exhibited throughout Canada. Her work is in the collections of the Burnaby Art Gallery, the Western and Pacific Bank, and private collectors.
Early in her professional life Trish was Executive Director of Malaspina Printmakers on Granville Island, and Latitude 53 Gallery in Edmonton, Alberta. She took a break from her studio career, went to medical school, and practiced as a physician for 25 years. She returned to the studio full time in 2019.

Trish’s furniture pieces question the definition of art versus craft, and invite the viewer to contemplate the value, or lack thereof, placed on “women’s work”. She creates a tribute to the labor of other women, a contemporary reworking of generations old handiwork.
